Latin American Business Studies

The Alberta School of Business, in cooperation with the Faculty of Arts, Department of Modern Languages & Cultural Studies, has developed this innovative and unique major.

The major in Latin-American Business Studies focuses on the economics, cultures, languages, politics, and histories of the Spanish-speaking nations of North, Central, and South America.

Develop valuable business & intercultural skills

Through your coursework and through formal study exchanges in Mexico, Ecuador, Chile, and elsewhere, you'll gain the understanding and skills to do business throughout Latin America. You'll develop the functional business skills required of today's managers as well as the language capability and cultural sensitivity needed to interact comfortably with Alberta's and Canada's trading partners.

Career opportunities in all areas of business would exist both in the government and the private sector, particularly in connection with the North American Free Trade Agreement.
